Who we are
Ghost Picker is an independent giveaway tool operated by Maetheon. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Snapchat or Snap Inc. Throughout this policy, "we," "us," and "Ghost Picker" refer to the operator of this service, and "you" refers to the person using it.
Information we collect
We try to collect as little as possible. In practice, the information we handle falls into a few groups.
Account and billing information. When you subscribe to a plan, you provide an email address, and payment is processed through our payment provider, Stripe. We do not store your full card number on our servers. Stripe handles the card details directly under its own security standards, and we receive only the information we need to manage your subscription, such as your billing email and plan status.
Public comment data. The core function of Ghost Picker is to gather the public comments on a Snapchat Spotlight post that you choose. This information is already publicly visible on the platform. We process it so you can filter entries and draw a winner, and so you can export a record of the giveaway. We do not access private messages, follower lists, or anything that isn't publicly attached to the post you provide.
Usage information. Like most websites, we collect basic technical data when you visit, such as your browser type, device information, general location based on IP address, and the pages you view. This helps us keep the service running, fix problems, and understand how the tool is used.
Communications. If you email us, we keep that message and our reply so we can help you and follow up if needed.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
Provide the service, including scraping public comments, running draws, and generating exports.
Manage your subscription and process payments through Stripe.
Respond to your questions and support requests.
Maintain, secure, and improve the site and the tool.
Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or anything that violates our terms.
Send you service-related messages, such as billing notices or important changes to the service.
We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers to target you.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember your session, and understand how people use Ghost Picker. Some cookies are necessary for the site to function. Others help us measure traffic and improve the experience. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though turning some off may affect how the site works.
How we share information
We share information only in limited situations:
Service providers. We work with trusted companies that help us operate, such as Stripe for payments and hosting or analytics providers. They only receive what they need to do their job and are expected to protect it.
Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, a valid legal request, or to protect our rights, our users, or the public.
Business transfers. If Ghost Picker is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that deal. We'd let you know if that changed how your data is handled.
Data retention
We keep your information only as long as we need it. Account and billing records are kept while your subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal and accounting requirements. Giveaway data you generate stays available to you while you use the service. You can ask us to delete your account information at any time.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data, including the right to access it, correct it, delete it, or object to certain uses. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including secure payment processing through Stripe and standard safeguards for the data we hold. No system online is ever completely secure, so while we work hard to protect your data, we can't promise perfect security.
Children
Ghost Picker is not intended for children under the age required to hold a Snapchat account in their region, or under 13, whichever is higher. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us, and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make meaningful changes, we'll update the date below and, where appropriate, let you know. Continuing to use Ghost Picker after an update means you accept the revised policy.
