Ghost Picker started with a small, annoying problem. Running a giveaway on Snapchat Spotlight should be the fun part of building an audience, but the actual picking of a winner was anything but fun. You would sit there scrolling through comments, screenshotting names, dropping them into a notes app, and hoping you didn't miss anyone. Then you'd close your eyes and point at the screen, or use some random number and count down the list by hand. It worked, sort of. It was also slow, easy to mess up, and impossible to prove was fair.
We built Ghost Picker so you never have to do that again.
At its simplest, Ghost Picker is a Snapchat Spotlight comment picker. You give it your giveaway post, it gathers the public comments, and it draws a random winner in seconds. That's the whole promise. But the reason we care about getting it right goes a little deeper than saving you a few minutes.
Why fairness is the whole point
A giveaway is a small act of trust. Your followers take a second out of their day to comment because they believe they have a real shot. If the draw feels rigged, or if someone suspects you just picked your friend, that trust is gone, and it's hard to get back. We think the tool doing the picking should be the one part of the process nobody has to worry about.
So we made the randomizer genuinely unbiased. Every eligible comment gets the same odds. No entry gets a secret boost, no name gets quietly bumped up the list, and we can't tip the result even if we wanted to. When Ghost Picker names a winner, you can post that result publicly and stand behind it, because there's nothing to hide.
That neutrality is the thing we're most protective of. Plenty of tools can shuffle a list. Fewer are built so that the person running the giveaway has zero ability to influence who comes out on top. That's the line we hold.
Built for the Snap community
Snapchat giveaways have their own rhythm. Spotlight comments move fast, entries pile up quickly, and creators often run draws on a schedule instead of one-off. We built Ghost Picker specifically for that world rather than bolting Snapchat support onto a generic tool.
You can scrape the public comments on a post, filter them down with a keyword so only real entries count, strip out duplicate comments from the same person, and export the whole record as a CSV when you're done. That last part matters more than people expect. Having a clean export of who entered and who won means you have receipts. If a brand partner asks how the winner was chosen, or a follower wants proof, you have it ready.
Whether you're a creator running your very first giveaway or a brand doing weekly contests, the flow stays the same: fast, clean, and easy to explain to anyone watching.
An independent tool
Ghost Picker is an independent giveaway tool. We're not affiliated with Snapchat, and we don't pretend to be. What that means in practice is simple: we only touch the public comments you point us at, and we build around what creators actually need instead of what a platform wants to promote.
Ghost Picker is also part of a wider family of comment pickers built for different platforms, including tools for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Discord, and more. The idea across all of them is the same. Wherever you're building an audience and running giveaways, the winner should be picked in a way that's quick for you and obviously fair to everyone else.
What we care about
A few principles guide how we build:
Keep it simple. You shouldn't need a tutorial to run a draw. Paste, filter if you want to, pick. Done.
Keep it fair. The randomizer is the heart of the product, and it stays honest no matter who's using it.
Keep it fast. Giveaways lose energy if the winner takes days to announce. Ghost Picker is built to give you a result while the excitement is still there.
Keep it affordable. Giveaways are a growth tool, and the cost of running one shouldn't eat into the prize. That's why plans start at $5 a month, with a yearly option for people running contests regularly.
Where we're headed
We're always listening to the creators and brands who use Ghost Picker every week. Most of what we build next comes straight from that feedback, whether it's a new filter, a cleaner export, or a smoother way to handle big campaigns. If you have an idea, we want to hear it.
